Everything you wanted to know about hybrid, fully electric and fuel cell cars.
Electrified Driving Without Compromise
Owning a Jaecoo hybrid or electric vehicle means enjoying power, efficiency, and sustainability in every drive. Beyond reducing your carbon footprint, Jaecoo EVs and hybrids come with significant cost savings.
Benefit from exemption in low-emission zones, reduced or zero vehicle excise duty (VED), and lower refuelling costs, especially when taking advantage of off-peak home charging. With fewer moving parts, servicing and maintenance are more affordable too, making the switch to Jaecoo smarter than ever.
Jaecoo’s Super Hybrid System (SHS) seamlessly blends hybrid technology with petrol power for effortless performance and maximum efficiency on every journey. Unlike traditional plug-in hybrids, SHS prevents battery depletion, delivering consistent power and reduced fuel reliance.

The range of an electric vehicle (EV) depends on the model and battery capacity and whether the car is fully electric or hybrid. Many modern EVs now offer over 350 miles on a single charge, with some premium models exceeding 300 miles. Factors such as driving style, terrain, and weather conditions can affect range, but regenerative braking technology helps maximise efficiency by recovering energy during deceleration.
The Jaecoo 7 SHS offers an electric-only range of up to 56 miles, making it ideal for city driving and daily commutes without using petrol. For longer journeys, the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine seamlessly takes over, extending the total range significantly while maintaining an impressive 403mpg combined fuel efficiency.
Fully electric vehicles remain road tax exempt until April 2025, although a charge does apply to cars costing over £40,000. Plug-in hybrids like the Jaecoo 7 SHS benefit from reduced road tax and potential government incentives.
Charging a Jaecoo SHS plug-in hybrid is straightforward and designed for convenience. At home, a dedicated wall box allows for efficient overnight charging, ensuring the vehicle is always ready for the day ahead. Businesses can benefit from government-backed grants to install workplace charging points, making it easier to integrate electric vehicles into daily operations. For those on the move, the UK has an extensive network of public charging stations, including fast and rapid chargers, allowing for quick top-ups whenever needed. Unlike conventional plug-in hybrids, Jaecoo’s SHS system ensures the battery never fully depletes, maintaining efficiency and reliability at all times.
The time required to charge an electric vehicle depends on the charger type and power output. A 7kW home or workplace charger typically takes between 2.5 to 3 hours for a full charge, making overnight or workday charging a convenient option. Public 22kW fast chargers can provide a significant top-up in around 1 hour, while rapid DC chargers (50kW+) can boost battery levels much faster, often reaching 80% in under 30 minutes. Many electric vehicles also utilise regenerative braking, which helps recover energy while driving, improving efficiency and reducing the frequency of charging stops.
